About the cancellation of the Hida Open Day 2004

The typhoon #23 has passed over the Hida district from 20th through 21st October. Owning to the typhoon's heavy rain, the road to the observatory was hardly damaged with such as landslides, or floods of rocks and mud.

The road is still under dangerous situation, and cannot be recovered soon. So, we are very unwilling to inform you that the Hida Open Day 2004 is called off.

We are very sorry for this sudden cancellation.
The Kwasan Open Day, as well as the "Digitallive in Kwasan" which will show some of the instruments at the Hida observatory will be held as planned.
