Taiyoh-kan

The "Taiyoh-kan" ("Solar House" in Japanese), was established in 1961, and is used to observe the solar spectrum with a 70cm Coelostat telescope. Unfortunately, air pollution in Kyoto city in recent years has made it difficult to make pioneering research with this telescope. However, it is used for training graduate and under-graduate students every year, and these students use it regularly for work related to their undergraduate degrees and postgraduate theses.
