The data/information that has been made public on this site (http://www.kwasan.kyoto-u.ac.jp/) was made, described or prepared by members of "Kwasan and Hida Observatories, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University" (referred to below as the observatory) and the observatory holds the copyright to all data/information on this site. If you would like to use data/information from this site, we request that you obey the following terms.

Links to this site from illegal pages (for example those with fraudulent content) and those sites that aim to negate the content of this site are strictly forbidden. It is also forbidden to directly link to images or files and place links to this site on pages with advertisements. So that we, the observatory, can understand the nature of the page you would like to place the link, please send us the following information via email:

2. Use of Images or Movies
If you would like to use any of the images and movies that are displayed on this site, for any images or movies that do not have specified terms of use, please find the section below that applies to your desired usage and follow those terms.
2A. Personal Use
If the images or movies are strictly for personal use, then we are happy for you to use them. However, if you plan to make them available on a webpage, use them for public distribution, or plan to show them to other people, this does not constitute personal use and we request that you refrain from using our data under the terms of personal use.
2B. Educational or Research Purposes
In the case of use in lessons or examinations schools or other educational institutions or for research in schools or other research institutions, an acknowledgement must be placed in an easy to see position. Even if used for educational or research purposes, if the image/movie will also be sold (i.e. reference books, workbooks, image library books etc), it is necessary to receive permission from the observatory before use. In the case that research using the observatory's data is to be submitted to a journal, please contact us before submission.

Examples of the format we request for acknowledgement can be found below. Please select the appropriate acknowledgement for each image/movie and add this to the place the image is displayed.

In the case that the image/movie was taken with one of the telescope at the observatory, please also add the telescope name. All the telescope names can be found on the following website: http://www.kwasan.kyoto-u.ac.jp/general/facilities/
2C. Use as Press Material
For use of images/movies by newspapers and media outlets, please send the following information via email please or fill out the separate application form and send it to the observatory:

2D. Commercial Use not covered in B. or C.

The observatory does not accept responsibility for any detriment or problem that result from use of data/information from this website.
