Hi Guys here are a few images of AR's 1805 and 1800 in Ha and white light.

Cloud gaps became favourable again after the truncated early morning session, and there was flare in progress in AR1800.

Note the faculae patterns around the spot in the white light images of AR 1800 compared to those in Ha.

Hello, here is a quite successful result on the tiny Mars with my daylight observation methodology that I will present at the EPSC. Amazonis-Tharsis look bright, the dark Mare Sirenum is visible on the top. Mare Erythraeum is setting. That was made at 11:37 local time with the Sun high in the Sky and average seeing.

Hi Guys here's an interesting prominence. It was imaged here at 07:42 ut .

This is a link to the Gong website at the same time

http://halpha.nso.edu/keep/hag/201307/20130726/20130726074214Th.jpg  .

It was the only image I took,  it dissipated around 10 hours later. http://halpha.nso.edu/keep/hag/201307/20130726/20130726172734Ah.jpg

seen here on Gong at 1727

The movie shown on Spaceweather a day later on the 27th, shows a different beast in UV lines

http://www.spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=26&month=07&year=2013

My lazy "pillow" prom was actually the top part of a loop that snapped around 1800, becoming a CME .

AR1800 shown here in white light also had a big moment that day, that is also visible in the same spaceweather movie.

¤·····Subject: IMAGES OF PLANET EARTH AND ITS MOON ... FROM A BILLION MILES AWAY

Received; 23 July 2013 at 06:36 JST

July 22, 2013,

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Last Friday was a very special day in the life of our planet. For the very first time, occasioned by the taking of images of Earth from our cameras at Saturn, people around the globe had the chance to reflect on our cosmic place, the uniqueness of our home planet, and the significance of our very existence. And judging from the heart-warming reports I have received, they also felt a connection to each other and the cosmos in a way they never did before.

You can find some of these reports from around the world at the end of this email. Read them. They will make you smile.

In the meantime, I am thrilled to present to you the images the world has been waiting for. They show a view of the Earth, our Moon, and us, in a way we only rarely get to see c from the most distant robotic outpost we have ever established around another planet.

Visit c.

http://www.ciclops.org/view_event/194

c and marvel at the pale blue dot.

Enjoy,

Paris:eI just smiled in the darkness of the Paris night thinking of you
all! Thinking of these rare moments when at last, we, human beings,
breathe in the consciousness of our universality.f

Unknown:eI had my Arms out in a big Y ... telling the universe I loved
it, and glad I am a part of it. Felt Fantastic. Nice to be a part of
something bigger than myself.f

Madrid:eFelt very connected for we are all the same Human family.f

Lake Ontario: eThe thought that a camera was taking pictures from so
very far away IS just incredible. We may not be unique... we may be
transient... we may be only flying along on a dust mote. But darn it,
for 15 minutes we were there, we were aware, and we smiled.f

Unknown:eThanks. It was a wonderful way to bring the world together.f

Unknown:eOne awesome moment in history and I am soooo chuffed to have
been a part of it. Gave me goosebumps it did, the thought of everyone
taking part.f

Malaysia: eI got up specially at 5.27 am to give a wave, just to say 'I
was there!' Luckily none of the locals saw me!f

South England: eAt the appointed time, I raised a glass of fine red
wine, and [my daughter] a glass of fizzy pop. We said 'cheers' to
Saturn, To Cassini, to each other. Then smiled, laughed, waved and
cheered and took photos of ourselves. Both beaming! It was perfect.f

Germany: eI tock a moment to marvel over the acomplichments of ouer
spiecis, how far we have come, and how far we can go if we just work
together :)f

British Columbia: eIt was great feeling c the same "oneness" as
thousands of others all around the globe smiled in sync.f

US Eastern Seaboard: eWhat a feeling of connection and oneness with the
miracle that is life on Earth. This experience was beyond meaningful. It
was transcendent. What a beautiful thing.f

Unknown:eI usually smile a lot, but today it felt even better! And
thinking there is really something flying around Saturn taking pics from
earth is really overwhelming! Thanks a lot! e

Hi

I was able to take a look at this structure from 08:49 to 10:49UT in generally poor seeing due to temperatures approaching 40 degrees centigrade, so dropped to 1.6m focal length.

Hope you find this animation interesting

This prominence looked amazing at 2013 July 20 0803 UT.

It was much more symmetrical than shown in the image at 1016 UT.

It earlier consisted of an enormous arch with tufts at the circumference leaning to the left as seen in the PST at 32 times. inverted altazimuth view.

Below this was a semicircular filled prominence more or less concentric with the immense arch.

And there was a clear and regular space between the inner prominence and the outer immense arch.

This was one of the most beautiful prominences I have seen in about 10 years and about 1800 observation days with the PST.

Hi all,

A large and rather impressive solar prominence was (and still is) visible on the Sun's eastern limb today. My seeing is now degrading but this morning it wasn't too bad. This is a 4 pane mosaic. Images taken with a SolarScope SF-70 double-stack attached to a Vixen FL-102S refractor. Camera was a PGR Flea-3.

¤·····Subject: Tomorrow is THE day...and here's a surprise for all of you!

Received; 19 July 2013 at 09:09 JST

July 18, 2013,

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you all know, tomorrow is the day.  If you've forgotten what time to
be outside, getting into the spirit of this global moment of cosmic
self-awareness, you might check out this website ...

             http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/news/waveatsaturn/timezones/

... which gives the start and end times when the Earth's picture will be
taken in countries and time zones around the world.  Light travel time
has already been accounted for.  Just be out smiling at the stated times
and you'll be a part of all of it.

And through a connection that came seemingly out of nowhere and almost
literally at the last minute, a very short video has been made about The
Day The Earth Smiled, using my words and ... get this ... narrated by
Morgan Freeman!

Check it out:
http://t.co/jCGp1ccN53

It would be good if this got around in the next 21 hours.  So if you
have the means to circulate it, please do!

And that's it.  Down to the wire, and less than a day to go.  I hope you
all enjoy tomorrow and that it becomes a memorable moment for a great
many people around the world, including you.

Enjoy!

¤·····Subject: REMINDER: Smile Next Friday....and Two Contests Invite PublicParticipation

Received; 13 July 2013 at 06:16 JST

July 12, 2013

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you already know, in only a week's time, our cameras on Cassini will
be turning Earthward to take images of us and our planet alongside
Saturn and its rings.  I have been encouraging everyone to take
advantage of this special event and, at the appropriate time on July 19,
gather outside with friends and family, acknowledge the interplanetary
salute between robot and maker that this opportunity represents, and
consider the uniqueness of our planet and the life on it.  They are all
reasons for celebration, and I certainly hope you all do just that ...
celebrate!

This event has received considerable attention so far ....

     .  from the TED folks:
http://blog.ted.com/2013/07/03/say-cheese-world-saturn-is-watching/
     . from Richard Branson:
http://www.virgin.com/richard-branson/pale-blue-dot
. from Robert Krulwich of NPR:
www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2013/06/27/196226342/

.... and other media outlets.   We're hoping it spreads around the world.

But I also want to remind you of two contests that Diamond Sky
Productions, LLC is running in association with the July 19 event.

We will be choosing the best original contributions submitted by members
of the pubic -- an image in one case and a musical composition in
another --  to a Message to the Milky Way that will be beamed in about a
year from the most powerful radio telescope on Earth, the Areceibo dish
in Puerto Rico, in a long-distance call to our fellow galactic citizens.

I hope you can help spread the word far and wide, in any way you can ...
email, Twitter, FaceBook, whatever ... that these contests are a
serious, exciting, and meaningful way to participate in the event, that
the winning submissions will be beamed to the galaxy, and that the first
contest begins next Friday when the image representative of Planet Earth
must be taken.

For more information such as contest rules and submission requirements,
and to check out the impressive list of individuals advising this
Project, you can start at ...

http://diamondskyproductions.com/recent/index.php#mmw

... and read on.

For the times on July 19 when the Earth images will be acquired and
instructions on how to convert to your local time, check out this page:

http://www.ciclops.org/view_event/193/A_Day_to_Celebrate_the_Pale_Blue_Dot

And come next Friday, don't forget to smile.

Best to all of you!

At the 1 meter telescope prime focus, this camera over samples - here is a full size R+IR where Encke division is visible on almost all of the A ring, and all of the different parts of the ring very obvious (details in C ring, the 3 main sections of B ring, ...) :
