. . . . . . . Hi Masatsugu,
First, Mars is shining well here, but I
have not yet been able to image it. I have been out of town until a few days
ago. I plan to start as soon as possible. I have just acquired a Mewlon-250 and hope to get some good images with that scope,
especially when Mars is at a low declination and my neighbor's palm trees will
prevent my seeing it with my 16-inch!
I have used the Mewlon for only a few days,
but the images appear to be excellent.
I will be most happy to upload my images
to your web site and to the addresses below. I have received a very nice
drawing from Mario Frassati. I don't know if you have
also received this, but have taken the liberty of attaching it here. If you
would like to invite him to submit his images, his e-mail is: mfrassa@tin.it
Also, Damian Peach has taken some superb
Mars images at under 4 arc-seconds. I believe he has submitted these to you.
They are remarkable, being the only color images of Mars at that size that I
know of. It looks like it will be a good apparition!!
Jeff Beish is doing well. I will call
Jeff tomorrow and see if he has received your beautiful card. Hope all is well
with you.

@ . . . . . . . . . . Hi Masatsugu,
Just a note about
Damian Peach's Mars image from 21 November. There seems to be a peculiar
dark feature near the SE limb, possibly corresponding to Titanum
Sinus. Could be artifact, but I doubt it. Any ideas?

@ . . . . . . . . . Thanks, Masatsugu,
I had forgotten about the MOC Mars
weather reports! I tried to image Mars this morning, but the seeing was too
poor to see anything but a fuzzy blob.
Best,
