From  Carlos E HERNANDEZ

@. . . . . . I would like to wish everyone a successful Mars apparition as we are receiving many excellent observations and images to date. The low altitude of the planet for observers in the Northern Hemisphere is a hindrance, but perseverance is paying off for many imagers and observers. Please keep up the outstanding work.

I have attached my latest Mars observations made on May 12, 2001 (05:30 and 06:10 U.T.). Significantly more detail is noted even over the "hard side" of Mars as the planet increases in apparent size. I am anxious for the period of closest approach in mid to late June. I hope that you enjoy the observations.

The best of luck to everyone on their own observations and imaging. May you all have clear and steady skies.
