 I did not observe Mars on the 24th but on the 19th and 27th (this morning). The seeing was not great (from France, near Paris, Mars is quite low), and I did not notice a prominent SPH, although it could have been slightly noticed this morning. Actually the brightest South features were the whitish Argyre on the 17th and 19th (cf.

and Hellas this morning (27th). The North Polar Cap, or Hood is a bit lighter in any case but not very obvious.
