I am very impressed with the OAA web site and the images from observers.
This apparition I have only had two occasions of good seeing (6/30, 7/4).
I videotape using barlow projection. I observed mostly with the 18cm refr.
There are several buildings and pavement to radiate heat at the observatory.
The situation may get worse if the trees are cleared on the South/Southeast
side and a proposed warehouse is built. This appears to be in the works. I
leave my work around
On 7/13 I observed Mars with
poor to fair seeing. I could trace out without much effort Syrtis Major and
other maria. Contrast was "soft" however. Perhaps the dust storm is
subsiding. Would have liked to have seen the initial dust cloud!
