LtE in CMO #256

From Donald C PARKER

@. . . . . . . . . Hi All and Happy New Year,

Here are some of my backlogged Mars images. The planet appears normal for the season. The SPC is tiny but still visible.

@ . . . . . . Subject: Happy Birthday!

Hi Masatsugu, Happy Birthday #63!! Of course, I have had another "senior moment" and have lost your exact birthday date, but I do remember that it is around this time. (I have a photographic memory -- but no film!)

Congratulations on the fine job you and the CMO did this year on the Mars apparition and dust storm. As always, it is a great pleasure working with you.

Hope you and your family are well.

Best regards and happy birthday again,

@ . . . . . . Dear Masatsugu, I will now remember your birthday! Have stored it in your file. Of course, I will probably misplace the file by next year!

Dave Moore is not old: I would estimate he is in his late 30s. Chick Capen, Jeff, and I met him about 20 years ago at an ALPO meeting. We all went out to a bar for some beer, and Dave was not old enough to drink at that time!. Dave is a really nice man and is doing some first rate work. Hopefully he and people like him will carry on our work in the future -- the distant future, since you and I won't be stepping aside for a LONG time!

I do have a backlog of Mars observations (12-20, 12-28, and 1-14). Since we were out of town during much of the holidays and then had relatives visit, I haven't had time to process them. Will hopefully get them to you by the weekend.

 Best,
