     I have attached some Mars images from 6-7 Jan, 2004. Looks normal for season.

D.C. Parker, Coral Gables, FL. 16-in (41cm) Newtonian

          ST9XE CCD Camera  Eyepiece Projection @ f/59

                       Integration Times: RRGB Images

 RED (RG610 Red Filter, 610-1100nm: NO IR Rejection)   0.16-0.17s 2-3 images

 GREEN (CFW8C, 531nm central; BWHM 86nm)   0.73s 4-5 images

 BLUE (CFW8C, 450nm central, BWHM 116nm)   3.10s 5-8 images

             Images bias,flat and dark corrected.

 

Seeing  very good,  (7-8 Pickering). Transparency = 3.5-4m with frequent high cirrus bands. Wind light E 0-3 kts. Altitude = 68-67 degrees. No dew. Pre cold front.

 

NP Hood prominent. Some cloud streaks in Memnonia and Amazonis. Dark streak along N. border of Cimmerium and Sirenum again noted. Bright PM limb arc.

           ST9XE CCD Camera  Eyepiece Projection @ f/59

                       Integration Times: RRGB Images

 RED (RG610 Red Filter, 610-1100nm: NO IR Rejection)   0.18-0.20s 2-3 images

 GREEN (CFW8C, 531nm central; BWHM 86nm)   0.80s 3-5 images

 BLUE (CFW8C, 450nm central, BWHM 116nm)   3.10s 4-6 images

             Images bias,flat and dark corrected.

 

Seeing  fair,  (5 Pickering). Transparency = 3.5-4m, waves of strato-cirrus clouds.

Wind light NW 0-4 kts. Altitude = 67-56 degrees. No dew.

 

NP Hood very prominent. SPC not detected. Cloud present on SW limb. Localized cloud in Chryse.

Bright PM limb arc. Argyre remains light. Solis Lacus and the Tithonius complex appear normal.

visually at 700X and suggested on the images.

             Images bias,flat and dark corrected.

 

Seeing  very good,  (7-9 Pickering). Transparency = 3.5-4m, pre-front cirrus.

Wind SSE 0-7kts. Altitude = 67-64 degrees. No dew.

 

Tiny SPC Remnant detected -- also glimpsed visually at 700X.

Localized cloud on SW limb -- appears to rotate with planet.

Conspicuous NP Hood and PM limb arc. Chryse bright in all filters. Aurorae Sinus very dark.
