Subject: 20030327 Jupiter

Dear friends,

Attached was the Jupiter taken tonight (20030327) at 14:16UT. The transparency was extremely low (thin cloud) and I have to gain more than 80%, so I have to captured 90 mins video and finally stacked 800 for improving the SN.

The STB is very obvious shown on the shot and very active blue festoons on EZ

Coming few days will be cloudy again and hope can get good weather next week.

Subject: Another 20030327 Jupiter

Dear friends,

Here is another Jupiter taken on  20030327 at 12:46:30UT which shows the GRS acrossing the central meridian. It was also stacked from a 90 sec video. As the seeing and transparency were very poor, most of the fine details have been washed out.

Spring in Hong Kong usually = low transparency, cloudy, poor seeing, humid and boring.

Kind Regards,

Subject: 20030419 Jupiter

Dear all,

Wait for almost a month, the sky finally clear a bit in Hong Kong and I captured the Jupiter image before it blocked by my roof ...

The seeing was very bad 2-3/10 but you still able to see some festoon connection between NEB and SEB on the EZ. Oval BA can be seen on p.side

The sky will be clear for coming several days, hope can get the better view especially for the GRS will be transit CM at the very good time tomorrow.

Kind Regards,

Subject: Re: [ALPO_Jupiter] JUPITER IMAGES - HELP

Dear friends,

Just processed one of the Jupiter taken last night, south is up. Seeing was round 7/10. It is very interesting to see the a series of ovals near the SSTB region. Very eye catching. There is a dark STB at the following side.

I will process the one with GRS tonight and share with you all later. Feel free to comment.

Subject: Another 20030422 Jupiter (spot inside GRSH?)

Dear Friends,

Attached were another 20030422 Jupiter with GRS & Io. The seeing gradually degraded. I found that there was a small spot inside the GRSH just north to the GRS. It was shown in both images though the one taken at 13:42 was taken during bad seeing. Actually I saw the spot while I was capturing the AVI.

Subject: 20030423 Jupiter & Io Transit

Dear friends,

Sunny day & cloudy night is the best description of recent Hong Kong sky. Cloudy after sunset so missed the good chance to keep track with GRS ... Fortunately, there were some cloud gaps later so that I could captured the Jupiter with Io transit shot. Seeing was below average and transparency was low.

Subject: 20030424 Jupiter

Dear friends,

Attached was the Jupiter taken tonight. Seeing and transparency was extremely bad, cloudy and windy.

The ovals on the SSTB regions were blured by bad seeing. I have to stacked more images this time in order to improve S/N ratio.

Kind Regards,

Subject: Website update

Dear friends,

My website has been update which include the Jupiter images taken from March to April. The one taken on 17 March is the best in this lot.
