LtE in CMO #276

From Alan W HEATH

Dear Masatsugu,

A few more observations of MARS for what they are worth and seeing has improved a little but still leaves a lot to be desired. Dark features seem pale and I like to be able to identify features by their shape, usually they have been rather diffused.

I will send further observations as they come along but this morning, 2003 July 28d 02:00 UT, I did notice that Hellas seemed to have a pinkish tint and with a blue filter (W47) I could see dark features vaguely, especially Syrtis Mj. Blue clearing?

  With warmest regards

(28 July 2003)
