Subject: Image from 9th August UT

Hello Barry,

Could you please send this image to the CMO when you can? Seeing at this UT was particularly good. Please note that the brightness stretching of the SPC was reduced c.f. the rest of the planet to avoid excessive saturation.

Regards

Barry,

Could you please forward this image to the CMO when possible? An interesting 'hazy' area just 'p' the SPC.

Regards

Barry

Could you please send this composite on to the CMO? I managed to find a few more video files that were useable.

Dear Masatsugu

Thank you for the compliment about my 15th August image. I am happy that it was of use to you. I have just now sent you another from the same night covering the three different times I observed. With these I have also included a ToUcam 'R' version showing the SPC for your interest; it certainly appears to be changing rapidly now.

After a good spell of clear skies on the 15th, we now have clouds & rain.. I hope that the weather will be kind to all of us over the coming weeks, so that we can share a truly spectacular closest approach of Mars for 2003!

It is outstanding that you have managed so many drawings in less than two months - truly amazing Masatsugu! I do envy your clear nights and applaud your diligence.

Best Regards
