Laboratory Astrophysics with Intense Lasers

Intense lasers can be used to carry out a variety of model experiments of 
space and astrophysical phenomena.  We are planning to carry out a series 
of experiment on collisionless shock formation and particle acceleration in 
the frame work of Japan-China collaboration.  In addition, China mainly 
focuses on opacity experiments.  We would like to give a talk on what is 
the new research field called Laboratory Astrophysics (LA) and show some 
examples already done.  I also would like to explain theoretical and 
computational design of our coming experiment mentioned above.
