Frank J MELILLO #217

Letters to the Editor

from Frank J MELILLO in CMO #217

@ . . . . Here I have many images of mars in violet light Wr. #47 on 4-28-99 from 3:52 to 5:48 UT. Hopefully, the HST took some images just before I did.
Couple of things I do notice to bring your attention. In Wr. #25 image at CM = 161 degrees, there is perhaps some dust nearly around the disk especially near the NPC along the NE limb. In violet light Wr. #47, this (polar clouds) visible in many images and moved with the rotation. I have never seen this before. Also, the South Polar Hood is visible on many images.
