Tom CAVE #219

Letters to the Editor

From Tom CAVE in CMO #219

@ . . . . . I am enclosing several more recent sketches of Mars. The "seeing" during much of May has been far better than March and April this year. However at the end of May and so far this month the seeing has been again poor, besides the few clear nights the rest have been very disturbed weather here on the coast of Long Beach we have had over 1/2" rain, unheard of for June. I will be making Mars observations in the twilight and soon after that I will be using my 8" F/20 Maksutov which must become stabilized for temperature, it is truly a fine instrument with a small central obstruction. Hope all is well with all of you.
Thank you so much for all the CMO's.
