Mars
Dear friends,
This is my first mars image after I returned from US
(Actually my last mars image was taken on 18 July). Fortunately the sky turned
to be clear when Mars at closest last night. Seeing and transparency were 6/10.
The coming few days will be clear too and I wish I can capture more shots.

Mars opposition (natural processing)
Dear friends,
Sky was clear last night when mars approached its
opposition. I was able to capture some portrait for mars,
the seeing was average but very happy to see the atmospheric features is more
obvious than 27 August. This time I use very natural processing and try to show
the most beautiful view of mars instead of just going for detail with hard
processing. The north polar hood and limb haze above Syrtis
Major at morning side is very well shown. Wish you all like it.

Mars (bad seeing)
Dear friends,
Last night the seeing was not very good. Very turbulent air and
I could only capture a few clips that I was confident to reach the focus. A new
Typhoon is formed in western Pacific Ocean and will affect

20030829 mars (manual selection)
Dear friends,
I have manual selected 200 raw frames out of 1200 from the
same raw video. The image sharpness and detailing improved a lot. Artificial
intelligent is not wise than human brain. Please feel free to comment on it.

Mars
Dear friends,
The sky was clear last night but quite hazy. Seeing was
quite good. Attached was the image captured with 12.5" F6 Newtonian and ToUcam
as usual. You can see the Olympus Mons and the orographic cloud (above Arsia?)
at the evening limb.

Subject: 20030830 Saturn
Dear friends,
Attached Saturn was captured in this morning just right
before sun rise. As we need to connect the camera and point to saturn before it hided from the
sun light, my friends Fat Pang, Billy and I took the shot with team work. I am
sure this morning was my fastest pointing speed to the planet with ToUcam Pro.

Seeing was just fair and transparency was very low.
Let's welcome Saturn

Subject: Another
20030827 Mars (processed it while typhoon is approaching)
Dear friends,
While a very strong typhoon is
approaching HK directly. I am processing another 20030827 mars processed
from one of the best AVI. I put two processed version, one is more natural
processed and the other one is enhanced. Thanks for the suggestion from Weileong
http://www.ort.cuhk.edu.hk/ericng/mars_200308271538_eric.jpg
BTW, you may be interested to see the typhoon image from the
following link. maximum wind speed is 190km/h directly
approaching HK.

Seems the HK amateurs should setup a scope and imaging
through the "eye" of Typhoon.
