Subject: Scan of Mars drawing Oct 8, 2003 at 00:30 U.T.

Dear Masatsugu,

Weather in Virginia has been a big factor in observing and in everyday life recently. The hurricane that passed through here on Sept. 18 caused much damage and power outages for a week or more. My home and the nearby Ragland Observatory were spared any major damage, but power was out for a week.
