--- 10 July 2003---

This is a belated edition of CMO #274 which should have been issued on 10 July 2003.

(7 July 2004)

From #274, we cite 2 articles

  CMO No 274 contains:

1.            CMO 2003 Great Mars Report #09 deals with the observations made during a fortnight period from 16 June 2003 to 30 June 2003: The Martian season proceeded from 204°Ls to 213°Ls and the apparent diameter increased from 14.4” to 16.5”. The season entered a dusty period. Still transitional, but already a yellowish haze covering, maybe caused by the dusty disturbances reported previously, began to be observed. In Japan the rainy days prevailed and the observation rates lessened, but at Okinawa the rainy season ended on 21 June, and MINAMI moved to Naha to observe Mars. In the US, PARKER and GRAFTON produced excellent ccd images of the areas of Solis L, Aurorae S and M Erythraeum.

2.          Letters to the Editor records a number of mails (mostly emails) received during the fortnight period from 25 June to 9 July 2003. Here are included the mails from 37 persons. Here is included an email from Tom DOBBINS on several concrete suggestions which are very helpful when we try to observe the glint phenomena on Mars.

3.          Ten years ago, at this time of the year the CMO was published monthly, and so no corresponding Ten Years Ago article this time.
