data for the solae eclipses are calculated using the same procedures and constants for the eclipse data in the Astronomical Almanac for the Year 2020 (USNO, 2019). The ΔT values, the differences between Terrestrial Time and Universal Time, were taken from Stephenson et al. (2016). * In the Type column T means total solar eclipses, H means hybrid (annular-total) solar eclipses, and t means non-central total solar eclipses. ** Magnitude is calculated by (r_sun + r_moon - d)/(2 r_sun) where r_sun is the apparent angular radius of the Sun, r_moon is the apparent angular radius of the moon, and d is the apparent angular distance between the centers of the Sun and the Moon. In the case of partial solar eclipses the magnitude is equal to the fraction of the Sun's diameter obscured by the Moon. In the case of total solar eclipses the magnitude is equal to 1 at the instants of the beginning and end of the total solar eclipses and varies continuously with time. *** (possibly depicted in Chumash rock art at Painted Cave near Santa Barbara, California) USNO, 2019: The Astronomical Almanac for the Year 2020, US Gov.
