    This paper reports the first detection of a cool star, apart from the Sun, where the magnetic cycle (polarity reversal etc) is in phase with its chromospheric cycle (Ca II intensity changes), on the basis of 8-year spectropolarimetric monitoring observations.

    S.Ueno In the tomorrow's solar seminar, I plan to talk about the following two things.
    1) Introduction of the theme of Mr. Kaiho's DST-observation in last week: According to Ishii-san, Director Shibata requested that contents of recent DST observations should be introduced in the solar seminar. So, I received Mr. Kaiho's presentation file for the seminar on Apr-25. I will briefly introduce it again for people who could not attend his seminar.
    2) Report of conference about Chinese future ground-based solar telescopes: When we visited Fuxian Solar Observatory in last December, I attended the conference about Chinese future solar telescopes in Kunming. In this conference, the Chinese Giant Solar Telescope (CGST) and 2.5 m solar and stellar telescope (ISMART) were mainly treated. I will report outline of this conference.

    Abstract:
    This paper studies the temperature, density and flow velocities of the prominence from a statistical point of view by combining the measurements from THEMIS, IRIS, HINODE/EIS and Meudon Solar Tower.
    They are aiming to answer the following question:
    1. what is the general direction of the magnetic field in prominences?
    2. are prominences in a weak environment field dominated by gas pressure?
    3. if there are substantial velocities to maintain vertical rotation structures, as has been suggested for tornado-like prominences.
