The above is showing the inside of the VE, and is consisted of three images which were taken consecutively during the plating of the mirrors. The lamp which is shining at the left of each image is the one used to determine the timing of the termination of the plating. The red filaments in the middle are the filmanets of tungsten with Al being heated. The vaporized Al were accelerated toward the glass-plate (mirror) by the high voltage applied inside the VE.
